Park Facility Operations Assistant

The City of Eagan is hiring a Park Facility Operations Assistant!
Outgoing, independent staff is needed to assist with the supervision, coordination, and provision of park and facility maintenance. Applicant should have excellent customer service skills, grounds and/or building maintenance experience, and the ability to work outside.

Hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays as determined by schedules and need.
Position is May through September, 15 - 30 hours per week.
- Provide on-site work direction to seasonal maintenance staff involved with: park, athletic field and facility maintenance, tournaments, reservations, special events
- Make contact with on-site facility users, athletic tournament directors and special event managers to coordinate schedules and ensure maintenance and service needs are being met
- Ensure safety protocols are being followed by staff and users
- Assist with training and orientation of seasonal staff
- Respond to inquiries and concerns related to facilities
- Ability to work independently
- Assist other staff as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
- 18 years of age or older
- Possess a valid drivers license and pass a background check
- 2 seasons of hands on experience with park, athletic field and/or facility maintenance
- Degree or course work leading to a degree or equivalent in Parks and Recreation or a related field
- Experience with park, athletic and/or facility maintenance that includes decision making
- Customer service experience that includes conflict resolution
Work Environment: 90% outside, 10% inside
Employee is required to work outdoors on uneven ground, while carrying heavy loads or performing maintenance tasks, in all weather conditions experienced in Eagan during the months of May through September. Weather conditions encountered may include heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, wind, etc.
