Schedule & Hours:
This internship is located in Eagan, Minnesota. Interns must report to work in-person daily. Primary office environment, with occasional field work and site inspections. This is a temporary position, starting in May of 2025 and lasting approximately 3 to 5 months. Office hours are generally 8:00am to 4:00pm.

- Special projects and research.
- Review land use and zoning permits.
- Perform site and landscape inspections.
- Prepare GIS Maps.
- Participate in Economic Development activities.
- Assist in general zoning enforcement as needed.
- Planning file maintenance.
- Other duties as apparent or assigned.
- Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program and have completed at least two years of coursework related to urban planning, landscape architecture, community development, geography, or closely related field.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must be 18 years of age by employment start date.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to learn various software applications.
- Work experience in local government; familiarity with municipal ordinances and principals of zoning and land use.
- Work experience in a customer service setting.
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and GIS software.
Ability to:
- Communicate effectively, in written and oral form.
- Write professional letters and reports.
- Conduct research and analysis.
- Attend daytime meetings when necessary.
- Work independently and as a member of the team.

Working Conditions:
- 50% office, 50% field.
- Primarily office environment with occasional field work and site inspections.
- FLSA non-exempt, part-time/temporary position lasting approximately 3-5 months. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm, 24-hours per week.
