Join our collaborative team this summer as a Summer Program Team Member with the City of Eagan!
The Spark! Mobile puppet team is an important part of our community outreach, offering original love performances all summer long. The team performs original scripts based on relevant weekly themes with a variety of fun characters. We visit 15 parks per week and reach hundreds of community members. The team also teaches three weeks of Spark! Puppet Camp for kids ages 7 -11. Come be a part of this fun and creative team!

Required Staff Trainings and Hours:
- Required onsite Training: June 9 - 11
- Programs run June 16 through August 21
- Daytime, select weeknights, and some weekend opportunities available
- Work up to 30 hours per week

A few things to keep in mind:
All staff are expected to be a part of mandatory staff training on June 9 - 11.
- Hiring preference is given to staff who can commit to more weeks of the full summer. Please share dates you may or will need off before or during your interview.
- Most leadership positions require a full season commitment.
- Use your creative performance skills to share fun stories through the voices of amazing puppets.
- Keep the imaginary puppet world real and magical to Eagan’s youngest audiences.
- Work as a team to rehearse for about 12 performances a week.
- Drive the Spark! mobile wagon to several locations throughout the city - training provided!
- Plan games and movement activities for children.
- Answer puppet mail.
- Help to set up and take down the Spark! Mobile wagon and equipment.
- Provide ideas for weekly scripts.
- Request supplies and materials as needed.
- Keep supervisor informed of any concerns related to the program.
- Administer basic first aid as needed – training provided!
- Job seekers should be 16 years of age or older.
- One year of experience in arts performance.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience participating in activities such as choir, band, theater, or speech.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications.
- Availability to work Monday - Friday in the summer.
Supervision
The Recreation Team Member will be supervised by the Recreation Supervisor and be provided work direction from the Recreation Programmer(s), Recreation Specialist(s), Program Assistant(s), and Team lead(s). This position does not provide any staff supervision.
Physical Requirements
- While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk and hear.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, run, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
Working Conditions and Hours
- Working conditions may include daytime, evening, weekend and holiday hours both indoors and outdoors.
- Outdoor weather conditions may include sun, rain, wind, humidity, high and low temperatures, snow and other natural weather conditions.
Salary : $14 - $16
