Pay: $23.05 per hour (Youth)

The Eagan Art House is a community visual art learning center offering a wide variety of summer camps for youth and teens. We will be opening our new building just in time for summer! Be a part of our dynamic team of art educators. Summer Camp Teachers will lead art camps for ages 6-8, 9-11 and 11 in a variety of media including, but not limited to, painting, drawing, clay, fiber art, digital art, and multi-media.
Summer Camps are scheduled morning and afternoons, Mondays – Thursdays and selected Fridays, June 16 through August 22. The schedule may vary depending on enrollment. Mandatory staff training is June 9-11. Some evening and weekend community outreach hours may be available. City Holidays are June 19 and July 4.

- Enthusiastically engage students in the process of art creation.
- Implement pre-planned visual art curriculum for youth ages 6 – 14.
- Demonstrate knowledge of painting, drawing and multi-media mediums.
- Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of artists, artwork styles and art history.
- Promote inclusivity and diversity in a community setting.
- Create a welcoming environment for all students and their grown ups.
- Set up and clean up activity spaces.
- Plan and request supplies and support materials as needed.
- Adapt curriculum to student's needs and skill level.
- Work independently and as a team.
- Make decisions and respond to questions and concerns related to participants, programs, staff, and the public.
- Communicate needs and concerns to Program Supervisor.
- 2 years of experience teaching visual art to youth in a classroom or workshop setting.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience developing lesson plans independently.
- Degree or coursework leading to a degree in art or art education or equivalent experience in art or art education.
- Experience actively creating art in one or more medium.
- Ability to be conversational in a non-English language.
Supervision
- Art Instructors are supervised by the Recreation Supervisor and will be provided work direction from the Recreation Programmer.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, talk, write, hear. Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally must climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, run, walk. Adequate vision to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Indoor and outdoor work environment.
- Variety of spaces that may require moving tables & chairs.
- May be exposed to debris and blood borne pathogens.
