What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Clerk position at City of East Peoria?
The City of East Peoria is accepting resumes for an Accounts Payable Clerk. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and organized. This position is responsible for promptly and accurately processing invoices for payment while ensuring accurate coding and entry, reconcile vendor statements including setup/management, maintain accurate records, handle payments, including issuing checks and responding to vendor inquiries. Will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions and assist with month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts. Must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy along with good mathematical skills, excellent organizational and time management skills. Must possess the ability to work independently, and have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must have proficiency with MS Office. This position works at East Peoria City Hall. High school diploma and a minimum of one (1) year experience in accounting or finance is required. Residency within twenty-five (25) miles of the City’s corporate limits is required. Successful completion of a physical and drug screen is required. Hourly rate range for this position is $22.83-$24.03 DOQE.
