Status: Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal employee
Salary: Starts at $26.00-$28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: 3-12 hours per week, evenings as early as 5:45 pm to as late as 10:30 pm. League play occurs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays.
Location: Eden Prairie High School, Central Middle School, Eden Prairie Community Center and Riley Lake Park (during sand volleyball season)

Recreation Division
The Recreation Services Division has the responsibility for managing all recreation facilities and providing a variety of affordable recreation programs and services for all age groups and people of all abilities. The staff in this division are responsible for the management of facilities such as the Art Center, Senior Center, and the Outdoor Center, as well as all other City park buildings and recreation facilities such as ball fields, outdoor ice rinks, sledding hill, amphitheater, and facilities on school property that are operated in partnership with the School District.

The Adult League Official - Volleyball Referee officiates for adult recreation sports league games. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:

Position Requirements
Position Requirements: Prior experience in playing volleyball and basic knowledge of volleyball rules required. On-court training and USA Volleyball Officials certification within 3 months of hire; certification must be maintained. Ability to learn and apply local league rules required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/pull/push/carry up to 30 lbs. Sits, stands, bends, stoops, reaches, runs and walks intermittently. Ability to reach, stand, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch, stop and start running for extended periods of time and avoid obstacles such as hit or thrown balls and players. Close and distant vision, peripheral visions and depth perception. Ability to work at least 4 hours in succession in a standing position.
Working Conditions: Matches are played indoors or outdoors depending on the season; may require working in adverse weather conditions during the outdoor season.
Position Preferences: Prior volleyball officiating experience preferred. Ability to officiate adults at the AA, A or Gold levels preferred. Extensive knowledge and understanding of USA Volleyball rules, terminology, and hand signals preferred. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.

Communication: Able to convey a message to get a point across; communicates in a clear and concise manner; able to write clearly and succinctly; tailors' message to a variety of communication settings and styles.
Attention to Detail: Able to find errors in work and solve problems; proofreads materials and makes necessary revisions before viewed by recipients; anticipates issues and performs at a high level of accuracy; sets up systems to ensure errors are not repeated.
Accountability: Follows through on commitments; focuses on appropriate tasks throughout the shift; takes responsibilities for actions both as an individual and on behalf of the organization; actions and words are in sync; follows all policies and procedures; maintains confidentiality; is prepared and punctual to all scheduled shifts.
Sound Judgment: Able to make a decision based on the right mixture of facts; determines a course of action after weighing and analyzing different options.
