- Part Time ongoing (Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal Status), non-exempt
- $20.00- $22.00/hour- depending on qualifications
- Reports to Police Records Supervisor
- Located at Eden Prairie Police Department (8080 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie, MN)
- Approximately 20 hours per week (based on business need) Hours are 8:00am- 12:30pm, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
The Police Department Support Services Representative supports PD operations by welcoming and assisting citizens and responding to community needs in an efficient and effective manner. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
- Acts as the first point of contact to the Police Department by welcoming the public and triaging requests for police services, both in person and over the phone.
- Provides administrative support to the department by distributing mail, making copies and scheduling fingerprint service and child safety seat appointments.
- Assists citizens of the Eden Prairie Community by providing requested information, such as permit applications and data requests, in a timely and accurate manner.
While these areas are the primary focus of this position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.
Requirements
- Highschool diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) required. Associate degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of two years experience in administrative support in an office environment required. Experience providing internal and external customer service over the phone and in-person required. Previous experience in a law enforcement support role required.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook) required.
- Candidates must successfully complete and pass the City’s evaluation of the pre-employment process prior to their first day of employment. Pre-employment processes for this position includes professional reference checks, background check, work verification, psychological evaluation.
