Position Description

Facility / Event Supervisor at Centennial Lakes Park is responsible for ensuring the highest quality customer service to all visitors while providing leadership, support and supervision to special events and building rentals and maintaining park buildings and grounds. Typical work hours are nights and weekends. Friday 2-10 pm, Saturday 2-10 pm, Sunday 12-8 pm. Employment status is regular part-time, fewer than 28 hours per week over the course of a calendar year.

Essential Functions

Serve as the primary on-site contact person for staff and patrons in absence of full-time staff. Address questions, concerns and complaints in a professional manner.
Provide supervision of scheduled events, building rentals and performances.

Set up tables, chairs and equipment for events;

Assist patrons, subcontractors and performers with set-up needs;

Monitor events and rentals, ensure compliance with park rules.

Ensure buildings and grounds are operational and safe for daily functions by providing regular walk-throughs.

Remain visible and engaged with staff and customers.

Provide onsite support and supervision to part-time staff.

Complete accident and incident reports and communicate to management.

Perform light custodial duties including cleaning floors, windows and emptying trash cans.

Assist with snow removal when appropriate, using a shovel and walk behind snow blower.

Operate and troubleshoot point-of-sale as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

M i n i mum Qualifications :

The job requires a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of customer service, facility or event management experience. Incumbents must have a valid MN driver's license.

Desired Qualifications :

Experience working in an outdoor park or facility open to the public.

The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form as well as tactfully and courteously with the public and City staff;

Ability to problem solve and preform multiple functions at once in a fast-paced work environment;

Knowledge of light custodial duties;

The ability to work independently and prioritize work;

The ability to relate and work effectively with people from diverse cultural, economic and ethnic backgrounds.

Physical and Mental Requirements :

Physical effort requires the employee be able to lift up to 100 pounds intermittently and 25 pounds

occasionally.

Wo r king Conditions :

Approximately 70% of the work is performed outdoors, with exposure to a variety of weather conditions. Incumbents may work weekend, evening and holiday hours.
