Job Summary:
The PT Maintenance II-Edinborough is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds, as well as all cleaning and custodial duties at Edinborough Park.  This job is also responsible for assisting in setting up, cleaning, and tearing down of all recreational events. This position provides customer service to Park guests.

Scope of Impact:
The duties and responsibilities of this job are performed with latitude for independent judgment in accordance with Department and City policies, Federal, State and Local regulations.  Work is subject to periodic review by the supervisor, who provides approval of recommendations and discusses assignments, priorities, and work.  

Eligible to start position as or promote to Maintenance III ($20.73-25.91/hr) with CPO certification and experience

This is a weekend position working every other weekend. We are hiring for both morning and afternoon shifts.

Schedule:
  1. Morning Shift

       Saturday & Sunday 5am-1:30pm



Schedule may be subject to change. This shift is eligible to pick up open shifts from either morning or evening schedules and from any days an employee is off for sick or vacation time. Time and a half pay for time worked on General Holidays if the facility is open

  • Time and a half pay for time worked on General Holidays if the facility is open
  • Maintains cleanliness and aesthetics throughout the Park.
    1. Cleans bathrooms and locker rooms; including fixtures, trash and floors;
    2. Washes park floor; vacuums, cleans and scrubs carpets and mats;
    3. Cleans and properly sanitizes for vomit, blood, feces, urine and food spills and/or accidents;
    4. Removes trash, composting and recycling;
    5. Cleans and maintains 500 gallon interior pond;
    6. Cleans windows, entryways, doors, etc.
    7. Removes snow with shovels, brooms and blowers;

  • Cleans Adventure Peak Playground and Gym Play Area
    1. Cleans pads, rollers and steps, slides, and surrounding areas;
    2. Inspects for safety and damage;
    3. Informs Maintenance Supervisor when Gym Play Area toys and equipment need replacement.
 
  • Provides customer service and leadership to other staff and guests.
  1. Demonstrates ability to problem solve and resolve customer issues
  2. Uses good judgement to provide excellent customer service
  3. Enforces park policies and procedures with guests.

  • Maintains Indoor Pool
    1. Cleans and maintains equipment;
    2. Monitors and changes chemicals as needed(if qualified with CPO certification);
    3. Hand vacuum pool or use automated pool vacuum on regular basis.
 
  • Performs maintenance on building and equipment.
    1. Replaces ceiling tiles as needed;
 
  • Assists with parties and events.
    1. Coordinates and assists with set-up and tear down for parties;
    2. Oversees and tears down equipment for programming in 300-seat amphitheater;
    3. May be asked to help set up and tear down interior and exterior holiday decorations.
 
  • Stocks concession area and assists with operations and deep cleaning
 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 Minimum Qualifications:
The job requires a high school diploma, general maintenance/custodial experience, and customer service experience.
 
Desired Qualifications:
Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facilities Operator training or be able to obtain within one year from hire is desired. Technical training in building maintenance including HVAC, plumbing and electrical is preferred. Experience providing maintenance in a public recreation facility is also desired. 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Desirable for Successful Job Performance:
 
  • Knowledge of methods of maintenance and repair of Park areas and buildings;
  • Skill in the operation and preventative maintenance of equipment and tools;
  • The ability to work independently to prioritize work requests; 
  • The ability to communicate effectively verbally as well as tactfully and courteously with the public, Park staff and bordering independent businesses;
  • Ability to operate and maintain a swimming pool, including knowledge of swimming pool chemicals;
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
 
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Daily lifting, pushing or pulling of up to 50 pounds and sporadic lifting, pushing or pulling of up to 80 pounds is required; heavy lifting requires appropriate assistance for safety purposes.  Cleaning and inspection of Adventure Peak Playground involves agility of climbing, crawling and kneeling.  Position requires the ability to stand and walk for most of the eight-hour shift.
Working Conditions:                                                                                                                                        
Work is indoors and involves using pool and cleaning chemicals.  Floors can be slippery and uneven.  Maintenance of Adventure Peak Playground involves working at heights of 30 feet.  Work hours can change due to the needs of the facility.
