Project Manager

City of Edinburg Economic Development Corporation in Edinburg, TX is actively seeking a dedicated Project Manager to perform economic development, coordination and implementation of the City's Economic Development Department projects and programs. The Project Manager position will earn a salary based on qualifications. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT MANAGER

As a Project Manager, you spend your day supervising, training and evaluating staff, determine work procedures and project schedules and ensure conformance to policies, procedures and regulations. Your work typically is responsible for managing local commercial and / or industrial businesses through targeted marketing. Your job is essential to the city, and you provide technical assistance and customer service to prospective business partners. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. This can include assisting in activities, events, and prepare solicitation letters to local and national business. You recommend and implement economic development programs from researching other local, state and federal economic development programs. You also assist in research, development, and distribute economic development data and reports. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed. The city needs someone like you with skills in economic development and you finding genuine enjoyment in what you do!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PROJECT MANAGER

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • Requires three (3) years with experience in economic development or a closely related field.

Preferred five (5) or more years with experience in a related field.

  • Preferred two (2) years of experience as a supervisor or oversight of a group of employees.
  • Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
