- Intern : $32.64 - $40.89
- Engineer : $44.08 - $55.22

About this Position
The Water Resources Engineer and Engineer Intern positions are non-supervisory roles that will assist with the oversight and delivery of the City's Water Resources Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Work is performed primarily independently, with work products reviewed by the Senior Water Resources Engineer periodically for overall effectiveness and adherence to policies, directives, and instructions.
Responsibilities
Intern)
Manage assigned projects from inception to completionReview submittals from consultantsAct as a liaison with consultants, external engineers, contractors, property holders, and various internal / external stakeholdersCoordinate with Right-of-Way consultant team to acquire easements and propertyAttend bi-weekly or monthly meetings with the design consultant and contractorsComplete engineering studies and investigations to complete technical evaluations and provide recommendationsComplete field inspections for ongoing construction projects and provide summariesReview invoices and provide recommendations on approvalRespond to public and inter-departmental inquiries relating to water and wastewater projectsPrepare information and / or agenda items and provide recommendations to the City CouncilInteract with federal, state, and local regulatory officials during project designs and permittingAbide by safety rules and guidelinesEngineer) Includes all the duties of an Engineer Intern, plus :
Conduct bi-weekly or monthly meetings with design consultant and contractorNegotiate and implement engineering and construction contractsApprove and process invoices from consultants and contractorsCoordinate with state's liaison and request reimbursements for loan / grant programsQualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited universityValid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrierIntern) Includes the qualifications listed above, plus :
Engineer Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)Engineer) Includes all the qualifications listed above, plus :
4 years of related experience and / or trainingProfessional Engineer license (or ability to become licensed within 6 months)Necessary Skills
