Code Inspector jobs inspect houses, businesses, private property, and other properties to ensure compliance with city ordinances. Code Inspectors also take detailed records of all inspections, investigations, and actions. This Code Enforcement job requires working the occasional weekend or holidays as well as hours beyond a normal schedule.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- General knowledge equivalent to 2 years of college
- 2 years of related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
- Patrol streets, commercial areas, and residential areas for code violations
- Create and maintain detailed reports on all inspections
- Respond to reports of potential code violations
- Provide information to customers
- Order abatements or issue citations on violations
- Obtain Code Enforcement Officer certification within 1 year of employment
- Obtain Property Maintenance certification within 1 year of employment
- Obtain and maintain substantial knowledge of municipal and state ordinances
- Perform safety checks and annual Fats, Oils, & Grease (F.O.G.) inspections
- Testify in court at arraignments or trials of violators
- Supervise the work of the abatement contractor
- Ability to read engineering plans/maps/specifications
- Knowledge of sewer piping, drainage, and wastewater collection systems
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug, physical, and audio screenings

Salary : $23 - $25
