About this Position
The Lead Family Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the voices of children, youth and families receiving care thorough the ESOC are represented in the projects decision-making and implementation processes. This position will serve as a coordinator and liaison between families, treatment providers, and community partners implementing the system of care. This position operates as part of the alternative schedule with hours from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday, and from 7:30 am to 11:30 am on Friday.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the management of the ESOC and work with the awardee staff in all levels of decision-making
- Coordinate with the Youth System of Care Grant Coordinator and model family-professional partnerships with key program staff, agency leaders, and the grant evaluator
- Help to develop an ESOC demonstration program that adheres to family-driven practices
- Set up or work with an existing family-run organizations that represents the cultural and linguistic background of the population of focus
- Partner with stakeholders and staff to identify families to be involved in ESOC activities
- Participate in developing the ESOC’s strategic plan. Provide support services for families receiving services through the grant. Strategize ways for families to be meaningfully involved in all levels of Edmond’s SOC
- Assist with oversight, implementation, and monitor progress of the ESOC. Keep families informed of updates
- Coordinate ongoing training and technical assistance to build family leadership, foster family & professional partnerships, and embed family-driven practices
Qualifications
- Broad knowledge equivalent to a four-year college degree
- 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training in a family advocacy role
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 12 to 18 months of management experience
- People and/or project management
- Must be a parent/family member of a child, youth, or young adult with severe emotional disturbance (SED) who is receiving or has currently received mental health services and have demonstrated experience providing services to the populations(s) of focus and familiarity with their culture(s) and language(s)
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
Necessary Skills
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Intermediate knowledge of cloud-based sharing software (such as Sharepoint or OneDrive)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong organizational skills and time management abilities
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to effectively facilitate meetings and coordinate projects
- Ability and willingness to occasionally travel within Oklahoma (mostly in Edmond)
- Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
- Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug and audio screenings
