The Opportunity:
The City of El Cajon is currently searching for a team player who has a passion for Planning to join our Community Development Department as a Junior Planner or Assistant Planner, depending on experience. The ideal candidate is dynamic, demonstrates confidence, pays attention to detail, and is development oriented.
The Recruitment Process:
The most highly qualified candidates will be invited to participate in the examination process which includes an in-person Qualifications Appraisal Interview. Interviews are tentatively scheduled for January 28, 2025. Successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list for employment consideration for at least six months.

Qualification Guidelines
JUNIOR PLANNER QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Equivalent to at least a Bachelor's degree with a major in planning, engineering, landscape architecture, geography, architecture, public administration or a related field.
Experience: None required.
Special Requirements: Possession of or ability to obtain, prior to employment, a valid Class C California driver's license with a safe driving record.
ASSISTANT PLANNER QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: At least one year experience in professional planning involving exposure to all aspects of municipal planning.
Special Requirements: Possession of, or ability to obtain prior to employment, a valid Class C California driver's license with a safe driving record.
Salary : $31 - $37
