We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused individual to join our team as a Community Outreach Shuttle Operator. In this role, you will drive a passenger van or bus, transporting patrons to various locations within the Bay area, while providing excellent customer service and promoting a positive image of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a passenger van or bus, following designated routes and schedules, while ensuring punctuality and reliability.
- Assist passengers in and out of the vehicle, providing physical support as needed, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
- Prepare and follow routes between destinations, utilizing maps and GPS navigation tools effectively.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle, conducting daily inspections and performing basic repairs as necessary.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid Class B California driver's license with passenger endorsements, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications from the American Red Cross or equivalent agency, maintained throughout employment.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, responding as a Disaster Services Emergency Worker when necessary.
Working Conditions
- Work primarily in a driving environment, frequently exposed to road and traffic conditions, loud noise levels, and inclement weather.
- Interact with upset staff and/or public representatives, interpreting and enforcing City policies and procedures.
