Job Title: High School Intern - Human Resources Department
Location: City of El Dorado, Kansas
Duration: 4-6 weeks
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 4-5 hours per day
Compensation: $12.50 per hour

About the Position: The City of El Dorado is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic high school student to join our Human Resources Department as an intern. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with data entry and record-keeping
- Organize and file HR documents
- Support recruitment processes, including posting job openings and reviewing applications
- Observe and assist with interviews and onboarding processes
- Help organize and prepare materials for employee training sessions
- Assist with benefits enrollment and administration tasks
- Participate in special HR projects and research
- Prepare and present a final report on internship experience
Qualifications:
- Entering Junior or Senior year of high school, at least 16 years old as of 05/01/2025
- Strong interest in human resources and public administration
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
