Job Summary:
The City of El Reno is looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing Visitor Center Attendant to serve as a champion for our city and its attractions. This position is perfect for someone who loves El Reno, enjoys engaging with visitors, and takes pride in promoting our community’s rich history, events, and local businesses. In addition to greeting guests and providing information, the attendant will sell promotional items such as T-shirts, stickers, and hats to help visitors take a piece of El Reno home with them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome visitors with enthusiasm and share knowledge about El Reno’s attractions, history,events, and businesses.
- Act as a positive ambassador for El Reno, promoting the city’s tourism efforts and initiatives.
- Answer visitor inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Distribute brochures, maps, and other informational materials.
- Sell and promote El Reno-branded merchandise, including T-shirts, stickers, hats, and othersouvenirs.
- Operate a point-of-sale system, handle cash and credit transactions, and maintain accurate salesrecords.
- Monitor and restock inventory of promotional items as needed.
- Keep the visitor center clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as logging visitor data and tracking trends.
- Support city-led tourism efforts, including special events and community activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Passion for the City of El Reno and its history, culture, and attractions.
- Prior experience in customer service, retail sales, hospitality, or tourism is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage with visitors in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner.

- Basic computer proficiency (email, internet searches, data entry, point-of-sale systems).
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Work Schedule & Conditions:
