ELDRIDGE POLICE DEPARTMENT HIRING 2025
The Eldridge Police Department is seeking dedicated, hard-working, team-oriented individuals to perform a wide range of law enforcement and crime prevention duties in the Eldridge Community. We currently have One Full-Time opening that will be filled through this hiring announcement. We will also be establishing a hiring / eligibility list for future hiring needs.
Iowa Certified Officers – Written and Physical testing is waived.
Certified Officers may be eligible for a $3,000 hiring bonus!

The Eldridge Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency located in Eldridge, Iowa. The Eldridge Police Department employs 11 full-time sworn officers, and a staff of clerical support professionals. The Eldridge Police Department is a very proactive department with new, modern, and updated equipment.

As of July 1st, 2024, the starting salary for a certified officer is $61,557.71 increasing after 1 year to $63,404.43. The Eldridge Police Union is currently in contract negotiations with the city, due to this, these numbers may increase. Starting salary for non-certified officers begins at $56,334.02. New officers are entitled to 24 hours of personal leave effective on the date of hire. Certified officers may be eligible for a $3,000 hiring bonus.
The Eldridge Police Department offers a 3% step increase after 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10 years of service. The city offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes up to 4 weeks’ vacation, IPERS retirement, health insurance, out of pocket maximum includes co pays and deductibles not to exceed $325 for single or $650 for family per year, dental and vision is also offered. The city also offers $25,000 life insurance for non-probationary employees.
Physical testing will take place on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at North Scott High School at 0900 hours. North Scott High School is located at 201 S 1st Street, Eldridge, Iowa 52748.
Written testing will take place following the physical testing, Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at Eldridge City Hall. Eldridge City Hall is located at 305 N 3rd Street, Eldridge, Iowa, 52748.
