What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Adjudication Specialist position at City of Elgin?
- Perform receptionist and customer service duties; be responsible for addressing any telephone inquiries.
- Manage case preparation for Adjudication Court and assist with the operation of adjudication hearings.
- Data entry of parking tickets, compliance tickets and vehicle tow receipts.
- Prepare letters and other notifications sent to individuals.
- Network with the Finance Department to create payment plans for respondents.
- Maintain and monitor vehicle tow inventory.
- Ensure the removal of tows released by towing companies.
- Prepare documentation for tow companies.
- Monitor and issue solicitor permits.
- Perform the job functions of the full-time Adjudication Specialist and City Hall Security Officer in the absence of the employees assigned to those functions or when requested; refer to job description for those positions.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to maintain clerical records and prepare reports derived from such reports.
- Ability to have contact with the public in a courteous and tactful manner.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Extensive and demonstrative knowledge of computer applications and the ability to use law enforcement data systems.
