What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Cashier - Sports Complex position at City of Elgin?
To provide concession services to the users of the Elgin Sports Complex.
- Responsible for cash control. Cashiers will be required to maintain necessary daily cash reports and keep inventory of supplies sold at their stations.
- Prepare food items for sale
- Stock and restock supplies
- Clean and sanitize area on a daily basis
- Provide general information on Parks & Recreation activities and facilities.
- Provide customer service to patrons.
- Maintain a positive public image and attitude with good public relations and customer service.
- Wear appropriate staff uniform.
- Interact with patrons in a friendly and respectful way.
- Attend all staff meetings assigned by Concession Manager.
- Abide by all City of Elgin rules and regulations as outlined in the Employee Manual.
- Minimum 16 years of age
- Related food service/retail experience desired
- Demonstrates proficiency in basic math skills.
- Ability to handle money in receiving and returning.
- Ability to work pleasantly with patrons and fellow employees.
- Ability to enforce all rules and Policies of the City at the facility in a diplomatic manner.
- Ability to handle prolonged periods of time inside concession stands.
- Must pass drug and background checks.
- Strong communication, mathematical, and problems solving skills.
- Ability to work pleasantly with patrons and fellow staff members.
- Ability to enforce all rules and policies of the City of Elgin at the facility in a diplomatic manner.
- Must pass drug and background checks.
HOURS: 25hrs per week. (Mon – Fri 6pm – 10 pm, Sat & Sun 8am – 8pm, weekends and holidays required. Hours will vary depending on tournament schedules.)
Salary : $16 - $18
