The City of Ellensburg seeks a skilled Associate Planner to join its Community Development team. As an Associate Planner, you will play a vital role in ensuring that development proposals and city properties are compliant with applicable regulations.
Your primary responsibilities will include conducting application reviews and site inspections, promoting the community's vision for future growth by participating in land use policy development and plan preparation.
You will work closely with senior staff to make recommendations on current and long-range planning activities, respond to customer inquiries, process planning permits, and assist customers at the front counter.
This position requires a strong understanding of land use policies, codes, and ordinances, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
To be successful in this role, you must have a bachelor's degree in Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related field, and a minimum of three years of experience in a related field.
