Job Overview
The City of Ellensburg is seeking a highly skilled Associate Planner to join our team. As an Associate Planner, you will play a critical role in ensuring that development proposals and city properties are compliant with applicable regulations.
You will work closely with senior staff to promote and support the community's vision for future growth by participating in the preparation and adoption of land use policies and plans.
In this role, you will perform a variety of planning work, including land use policies, plans, codes, and ordinances; assist in administration and enforcement of policies, land use permitting, environmental and critical area review, zoning, subdivision applications, and if assigned, historic preservation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct application review and site inspections in a timely, accurate, consistent, and impartial manner.
- Promote and support the community's vision for future growth by participating in the preparation and adoption of land use policies and plans.
- Perform a variety of planning work, including land use policies, plans, codes, and ordinances.
- Assist in administration and enforcement of policies, land use permitting, environmental and critical area review, zoning, subdivision applications, and if assigned, historic preservation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Planning, Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience that directly relates to the duties and responsibilities of this position.
- Valid State Driver's License or ability to obtain one by time of hire; must maintain an insurable driving record.
Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of $5,762 - $7,202/month plus benefits, including Public Employees Retirement System and Social Security; Medical/Dental/Life/Disability Insurance, vacation, sick leave, holidays, and employee choice days.
