Under general supervision, plan, organize, and AV, broadcast, and/or recording arts instruction which helps participants learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to educational development, creative expression, and social engagement.

This is a part time  temporary contract position and incumbents are limited to working a maximum of  999  hours per year.•Prepare class ideas, develop lesson plans and establish goals for classes in broadcast/AV programs such as audio mixing, instrument management and set up, AV recording, digital editing, podcasting, live stream recording and more. 
•Live audio/recorded audio experience, understanding audio mixers, DAW, signal chain and audio routing, instrument and microphone set up, video switcher experience, PTZ camera control.
•Instruct youth and adult participants in group settings of up to 16 at various ability levels in AV, broadcast, and/or recording classes, workshops, and youth camps. 
•Provide appropriate instruction and activities for participants to meet objectives and enjoy the creative process. Lead classes through engaging teaching techniques that demonstrate clarity and creativity with encouragement for participants to reach their personal goals.
•Coordinate with volunteers to assist with programs.
•Select and requisition instructional materials; maintain inventory records. 
•Ensure that all spaces and classes are safe, welcoming, and inclusive to all participants.
•Maintain and service equipment as is possible.
•Performs other related work as required.
•Must be able to manage supplies, equipment, tools and classroom, and storage spaces. Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
•Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural, or composite characteristics of data, people, or things.
•Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information. Includes receiving instructions, assignments, and/or directions from superiors.
•Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondence, reports, handbooks, forms, lists, etc. Requires the ability to prepare correspondence, simple reports, forms, instructional materials, etc. using prescribed format.
•Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in narrative or diagrammatic form; and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
•Requires the ability to conceptualize and create AV works and broadcast examples and encourage creative flow while applying artistic principles.
•Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with compassion and respect.
•Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with emergency situations.


Equivalent to an associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in broadcast/AV recording or related field plus four years of responsible arts program experience including at least one year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience. 
•Demonstrated proficiency in one or more areas listed in important and essential duties.
•Experience developing curriculum AV, broadcast, and/or recording classes, workshops, and youth camps.
•Experience teaching in AV, broadcast, and/or recording classes, workshops, and youth camps.
