This position is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of parks and recreation programs and special events.
- Plans and executes community events; manages event budgets; establishes contracts with vendors; coordinates event entertainment; coordinates staffing and volunteers; manages event publicity and marketing; solicits donations from local businesses; oversees events and resolves problems.
- Performs public relations functions in support for department programs and events; manages the department webpage; updates social media accounts; creates and posts photographs, videos, flyers, etc.; prepares monthly newsletters; prepares public service announcements; prepares and sends mass emails; prepares press releases; coordinates advertisements for programs and city events.
- Coordinates parks and recreation programs; manages program budgets; plans and implements year-round and short-term programs; researches programming needs and prepares and implements new programs in response to those needs; coordinates cheer, pickleball, and tennis teams.
- Coordinates annual camps; manages and oversees camp budgets; arranges for guest speaker’s informative programs; coordinates participant registration; hires, trains, schedules, and manages camp staff; updates camp policies; manages camp daily activity schedules; coordinates off-site trips; prepares accident reports as needed; oversees daily camp operations.
- Reviews and updates sponsorship opportunities; creates sponsorship packets and distributes to local businesses; manages sponsorship contracts; orders and manages sponsorship banners.
- Provides customers service to program participants and the general public; completes registrations and reservations.
- Provides administrative support for office operations; prepares and processes payroll; facilitates staff luncheons.
- Attends annual APRA conference, travels with sports teams for competitions.
- Represents the department with community groups, Chamber of Commerce, and city events.
- Performs related duties.

- Must possess a valid Alabama driver's license.
- Must meet City of Enterprise physical standards which include drug and alcohol testing.
