JOB SUMMARY:
The Events Manager organizes fun, engaging events that celebrate Erie’s diverse cultures and welcoming, vibrant neighborhoods. This role serves as the Executive Director of Cultures, Arts, Festivals, and Events of Erie (CAFE), a 501(c)3 organization. CAFE is responsible for CelebrateErie, Lights Over Lake Erie, Sounds of Summer, and the 814 Concert Series. The Events Manager will set the vision, lead strategy, and manage finances, marketing, fundraising, and planning and implementation of all CAFE events and programs.
The duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
1. Develop and execute implementation strategy for City of Erie programs, projects, and events.
2. Work with the CAFE board and staff to ensure the organization’s mission is fulfilled through programs, strategy, and community outreach.
3. Lead planning and implementation of all annual events and programs, including Lights Over Lake Erie, CelebrateErie, Sounds of Summer, 814 Concert Series, and others that may be added.
4. Serve as a liaison between CAFE and coordinate with City of Erie departments, including public works, police, and fire.
5. Lead fundraising and grant procurement for events and programs.
6. Manage marketing and media for events and programs.
7. Work with the CAFE Treasurer to manage daily finances and complete the annual audit.
8. Work with the CAFE President to prepare for and lead all board meetings, and prepare an annual budget and operating plan.
9. Manage all contractors, consultants, printers, agencies, and interns hired by the organization.
10. Ensure that CAFE operations comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and bylaws.
11. Create materials and assets for City of Erie programs, projects, and events.
12. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, communications, marketing, development or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in management, volunteer coordination, event planning, development, communications and/or marketing.
- Nonprofit experience preferrd
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Pay: $53,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
