The City of Eustis is seeking a trustworthy, responsible individual who, under supervision, manages the City’s network infrastructure, including servers, workstations, and peripherals. Installs, maintains and monitors the operation of the local area network and related components. Evaluates vendor products in hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment; and recommend purchases consistent with short and long-term objectives. Recommends and implements Networks policies and standards, ensuring adherence to security procedures. Installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades to all City computer hardware, software, peripheral equipment, and City-wide electronic mail systems.

Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and debugging of computers; ability to communicate effectively and explain complex technical matters to individuals possessing varying technical abilities; ability to operate and perform basic repairs to PC’s and peripheral equipment; numerical ability to prepare operating records, time computer runs and adhere to fixed operating schedules and to discuss operating difficulties; ability to plan and schedule work; ability to work well with others; ability to drive a vehicle; ability to remain at a city work shelter, before, during and after a hurricane or other storm or disaster, if asked.
Skill in computer application.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Science or related field; four (4) to five (5) years experience in installing, configuring and supporting computer networks, preferably in a governmental setting. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities and other competencies required for the position may be considered. • Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, SonicWall CSSA, ConnectWise CCPA, LabTech LTCP, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP, etc. are considered during hiring evaluation. Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record is required.
Working Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, due to the nature of the position, some on-call work will be required on a rotating shift, which may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Physical Demands:
This is continual light work and occasional heavy work. Requires frequent walking; sitting and standing, bending and reaching; climbing and stooping; good finger/hand dexterity and hand/eye coordination; regular lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 35 pounds; good eyesight, hearing and speech; regular driving of vehicle.
Salary Information:
