SALARY RANGE: $16.00-$22.40/ HOUR, DOQ
WORK SCHEDULE: UP TO 40 HOURS/WK; MONDAY-FRIDAY, 7:00 A.M.–3:30 P.M. (WEEKENDS AS NEEDED); OVERTIME IS AVAILABLE

SUMMARY: Performs various non-skilled manual labor tasks related to maintenance, cleaning, repair, and construction of the park system, cemetery, athletic fields, and various facilities to help ensure safe, clean, well-maintained grounds and facilities at assigned locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Specific job functions will depend on crew and location assignment. Mows, trims, and edges turf areas; waters turf, trees, flower beds, and shrubs; sprays, weeds, seeds and lays sod on specified turf areas; cleans parks, cemetery, and city grounds of all debris, litter, rocks, and weeds; assists with athletic field layout and working during sports tournaments, cleaning, painting, and lining; performs routine equipment maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repair work on all equipment used; cleans park restrooms, including basins, stools, urinals, and deodorizes and sanitizes; graffiti removal; installs and repairs turf irrigation systems; and performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be 18 years of age or older; possess a high school diploma or equivalent; possession of a CO Class R driver’s license; general knowledge of park operations and maintenance; ability to use hand tools to perform physical labor for extended periods of time, including but not limited to, shovels, rakes, brooms, picks, saws, hammers, trimmers, edger’s, blowers and other commercial turf maintenance equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction; ability to work independently and exercise good judgment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all city employees, other agencies, and the general public; ability to maintain all work areas and tools in a clean and safe condition; ability to be conscientious and comply with safety and quality of work standards; ability to perform strenuous physical work for extended periods of time; ability to lift and carry 80 pounds; and ability to work weekends and holidays as needed. Commercial or municipal turf maintenance experience desired. Bilingual skills desired.
