What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT HelpDesk Assistant position at City of Fairfield, CT?
Assists IT HelpDesk Technician installing and supporting desktop computers and applications, and telephones throughout Town offices and buildings.
- Unboxing computers
- Imaging computer disk drives
- Delivery, installation, and configuration of Windows computers
- Installation and configuration of directly connected and networked printers
- Investigates and resolves desktop hardware and software problems
- Surveys and documents network and telephone lines
Qualifications
- Ability to perform in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner at all times
- Ability to express oneself succinctly and professionally, both orally and in writing
- Provide customer service and information to internal departments (Polite, tactful, diplomatic, patient, supportive)
- Must be able to lift and orient computer equipment weighing up to 20 pounds in an office environment
- Valid driver’s license in good standing; 18 years old or older preferred in order to drive a Town vehicle
Experience:
- Technically inclined
- Microsoft Windows
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Wired and wireless networking
- iOS and Android smartphone knowledge a plus
