What are the responsibilities and job description for the PARKS MAINTENANCE position at City of Fairfield, CT?
The Town of Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department is seeking paid seasonal workers. The positions are from May 1, 2023 to October 27, 2023. Workers must be a minimum of 18-years old and have a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of Town public spaces is a plus. Pay rate is $15.75 per hour. Workers must be self-motivated, capable of working outdoors with and without direct supervision, in all weather conditions. Experience with hand tools, mowing, basic carpentry, planting and yard work/brush clearing is desired.
- Parks: grass trimming, brush cutting
- Mulch Garden Beds
- Loam and seed athletic fields and parks
- Remove refuse from grounds; cut, trim, water and fertilize lawns and bushes
- Load and unload heavy material from trucks and vans; move or aid in moving furniture, equipment and large bulky items
- Assists craftsmen in a variety of unskilled tasks
- Leaf pick-up in parks
- Other Parks related duties
Qualifications
Workers must be 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license
