Activity Specialist – Programming Division
(Aquatics Complex at Allan Witt Park)
The focus of this position is to serve as “host” and oversee the pool parties at the City’s Aquatics Complex at Allan Witt Park. Primary duties include greeting partygoers, providing wristbands, leading participants to the appropriate rental area, and providing general service throughout the rental period as needed. Party rental packages include options to rent games and optional recreation activities. The Activity Specialist will set up games and activities prior to the arrival of guest(s) or within the timeframe allocated within the rental timeframe as required.
The Activity Specialist will also support the Aquatics Coordinator, Pool Manager, or Supervisor with set-up and decoration for Special Events held at the Aquatic Complex which include but not limited to Egg-Dive-Aganza, Neon Night Swim, Bobbing for Pumpkins, and Santa Splash. The Activity Specialist may support other activities and events within the Programming Division as needed (Senior Center, Parks, Community Center, Neighborhood Centers).
Please Note: This position is represented by Fairfield Part-Time Employees’ Association (FPTEA), is part-time, year-round, non-benefited, and limited to working no more than 1,000 hours in a fiscal year (July 1-June 30). Candidates must be available to work a varied scheduleto meet program needs, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed

Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years' experience working with the demographic served by the program area where the vacancy is being filled are required.
- Experience in leading and assisting with a variety of activities and programs in the area of specialization is highly desirable.
Education:
- A passing score on the No Child Left Behind exam, or 48 college units or a Para-Educator certificate is required.
LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATE:
- Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid California Driver's License at the time of appointment is required.
- First Aid and CPR certification may be required based on the program area where the vacancy is being filled.
