Under the general supervision of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager, this employee performs a variety of tasks and duties associated with the safe and effective operation of the City’s wastewater treatment plant. These tasks and duties include, but are not limited to, regular (daily) inspections of treatment plant equipment for safe and effective operation, recording treatment data based on equipment inspections and monitoring, performing required laboratory tests for wastewater treatment monitoring, performing routine equipment maintenance (lubrication, adjusting equipment, etc.), collecting wastewater samples for state reporting requirements, preparing and submitting required laboratory results to appropriate state and federal agencies, assisting treatment plant staff as needed (i.e., changing motors), calibrating and adjusting laboratory equipment and maintaining treatment plant building and grounds. This job is considered safety sensitive and is subject to a background check and random drug screening.
