MPO Associate Planner
Job Summary:
This is a regular, full-time position that assists in the daily operation of the MPO. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in urban planning or a closely-related field and be proficient in transportation planning activities, including researching, preparing technical reports, and making presentations to boards and commissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists in scheduling, drafting public notices, and setting meeting agendas.
- Coordinates with the New Mexico Department of Transportation to ensure projects are completed within established deadlines.
- Performs professional and technical transportation planning activities, including researching, preparing technical reports, and making presentations.
- Prepares maps and graphics, performs GIS analysis, and develops updates to the TIP, UPWP, and MPO budget.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in urban planning or a closely-related field.
- Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Extensive background checks required.
Physical Demands:
The work environment is mostly office-based, with some outdoor work required for inspections. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and office equipment.
