Job Title: Reserve Alternative Response Unit EMT
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Reserve Alternative Response Unit EMT. The successful candidate will provide transportation services in a safe and professional manner for persons seeking shelter to the Sobering Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a City owned passenger vehicle in a safe and professional manner.
- Assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicles.
- Follow assigned routes and respond to calls for pick up.
- Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity of the needs of individuals in need of transportation.
- Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and inspections as required.
- Ability to understand English language to include traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules.
- Keep the vehicle clean and ready for pick ups.
- Complete paperwork as required.
- Check and maintain all medical equipment during assigned hours.
Requirements:
- Valid High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with acceptable driving record for the past three years.
- Be 18 years or older at the time of employment.
- Must successfully pass an entrance exam.
- Successfully pass a series of interview panels.
- Pass an extensive background check.
- Pass a pre-employment physical examination.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must have and maintain NM EMT basic or above licensure.
- Have the ability to act effectively in emergent and stressful situations.
- Have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Have the ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the general public.
Working Environment: The work environment is typically outside in varying weather conditions, with moderate noise levels.
