Job Title: Street Maintenance Technician
About the Role:
This is a full-time position with the City of Fate, responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled street maintenance and repair tasks. The successful candidate will work independently to identify areas needing repairs and perform demolition, patching, and overlaying, crack sealing of asphalt, back filling trenches and excavations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform a variety of street maintenance and construction repairs to asphalt and concrete including sidewalks and curbs
* Maintain heavy equipment to include backhoe, bobcat, and pulling trailer
* Install traffic control devices and signage as required
* Maintain records of street and construction projects and street inventory
* Repair/replace street signs
* Perform crack sealing and sweeping of city streets
* Evaluate school zone signals and coordinate street light repairs
* Daily repairs on city streets as needed
* Perform proper maintenance of department equipment
* Perform preventative maintenance on all city-owned drainage easements throughout the city

Requirements:
* High School Diploma or GED
* One year experience performing concrete/asphalt street repair preferred
* Experience operating heavy equipment preferred
* Possession of a valid Texas driver's license
Working Conditions:
This position works in all types of weather conditions. The ability to work after normal working hours and on weekends when needed is also required.
