Essential Job Duties
Safety/Security Sensitive Designation:
This is a safety/security sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Note: All City of Fayetteville positions require employees to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees (especially members of their own team), and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive.
Other essential duties of this position include the following:
- Assist in the approval and coordination of special events by providing logistical support before, during, and after events.
- Serve as a liaison for external event organizers to ensure adherence to park policies and procedures.
- Monitor events to ensure compliance with City regulations, safety protocols, and event agreements. Ensure compliance with the City’s policies and applicable laws, particularly those related to special events.
- Responsible for generating and sending invoices, as well as managing the collection of payments for special events, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Coordinate with Park Operations regarding event schedules, event setup and facility preparation.
- Address event-related issues or concerns promptly and escalate them to the appropriate staff if necessary.
- Research policies, procedures, and benchmarking fee structures to support event planning and operations and make recommendations.
- Demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making skills, especially in situations involving enforcement of park rules, inclement weather, emergency response, and risk management.
- Provide support by assisting with general inquiries and directing visitors to appropriate staff members. Help customers with inquiries, applications, registration, reservations, and other needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Possess a High School diploma or GED.
- Education and/or experience in event coordination, hospitality, recreation, facility management, or a closely related field preferred.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
- Successfully pass a criminal background check, including but not limited to convictions, guilty pleas, or no contest pleas to violent offenses, theft offenses, offenses against children, and any offense under A.C.A. 21-15-103 and A.C.A. 21-15-111 or that would prevent a person from obtaining an Arkansas teaching certificate (A.C.A. 6-17-410).
- Evening and weekend program/event supervision is expected and required.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and related software programs. Ability to effectively operate standard office equipment.
- While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, and sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- While performing the functions of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside weather conditions.
