Part-time, Seasonal Employment
The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for Field Supervisors to assist in coordinating and supervising athletic events at various fields and recreation centers. The Field Supervisor is an employee of the Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation Department and thus represents the Athletic Division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide all necessary equipment for the games to the score/timekeeper and game officials.
- Make certain that fields are set-up and broken down properly.
- Inspect the playing area to ensure the field is safe for competition.
LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:
Required for school bus operators only:
Possession of an appropriate CDL with a school bus "S" endorsement and ability to maintain insurability.

From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last approximately 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, background check and driving history check.

Deferred Compensation Plans
Effective January 1, 2025, part-time, seasonal and temporary employees are eligible to participate in the NC 401(k) and NC 457 plan. These plans assist employees in saving for retirement by saving a portion of their pay.
The NC 401(k) and NC 457 plans are both administered by Empower.
Part-time, temporary and seasonal employees can:
- Enroll in the NC 457 Plan.
- Enroll in the NC 401(k) Plan (eligibility begins January 2025)
- Roll over outside assets (if eligible) and take advantage of strong oversight, diverse investment options and low fees.
City employees are paid bi-weekly, every other Friday. As an added convenience and safety measure, the City requires all new employees to sign up for direct deposit of their payroll checks.
