The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Historical Properties Specialist to assist in the development of exhibits and programs; to conduct tours of the museum and downtown area; to give historical presentations at the museum or outside venues; and to assist in the restoration and accessioning of artifacts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct tours of the museum, annex and downtown areas.
- Assist in the restoration and cataloging of artifacts.
- Assist in exhibit design and construction.
- Assist with Historic Resource Commission activities.
- Assist with the maintenance and minor repair of museum buildings and assets, including routine cleaning activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience:
None. Experience in recreation program planning and administration preferred.
Training:
Equivalent to an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation administration, physical education, business administration, or a related field.
LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability. Possession of or ability to obtain a CPR certification; AED certification; and First Aid certification within one year of hire.
Preferred:
None.
From the time of closing, the selection process is anticipated to last 4 - 6 weeks. The process will consist of a panel interview with the selected candidate being subject to a pre-employment drug screen, background check and driving history check.
