A RESUME WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED IN DETERMINING YOUR QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION.The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Project Manger to manage complex environmental science or civil engineering work in support of the watershed master plan program. Oversee and conduct environmental science studies or hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for watershed studies and review comprehensive management plans. Manage other civil and modeling work, including reviewing drainage studies and stormwater project designs. Provide project management services.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Prepare or direct the preparation of reports and documents related to various aspects of watershed master plan program and other reports and design documents; envision and manage technical planning projects and programs; provide oversight of hydrologic/hydraulic calculations and modeling concerning City standards; and conduct or oversee environmental science results and/or hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for watershed studies. Coordinate with other governing agencies as needed such as Cumberland County, US Army Corps of Engineers, NC Department of Transportation, NC Department of Environmental Quality, and FEMA.Attend neighborhood meetings to discuss projects with interested and affected property owners, and homeowner groups; provide public assistance by evaluating existing problems and make recommendations for the appropriate corrective actions to property owners, homeowners and their consultants.Direct and manage project development from beginning to end; define project scope, objective, goals, and deliverables that support organization’s goals in collaboration with senior management and involve all stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility; manage changes to project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.Participate in the development of an assigned program for the Engineering division annual budget; forecast additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary.Compose, evaluate and review plans, specifications, designs and related documents, technical reports and letters, proposals, reports and studies; participate in the development and preparation of plans, specifications and cost estimates for proposed and public improvement projects.Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, requirements documentation, and presentations.Assist with the selection, negotiation and management of professional services contracts, internal resources and third parties for efficient execution of projects; ensure resource availability and allocation; monitor contract compliance and status.Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, create and maintain comprehensive project documentation; analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals; report and escalate to management as needed.Plan, prioritize, assign, and review the work of staff responsible for providing technical services within the division; recommend goals, objectives, and practices for providing effective and efficient services.For a complete job description, click here.
