Ferguson Parks and Recreation is looking for seasonal Aquatic Complex Attendant to assist with the operations of the Splash at Wabash Aquatic Complex. Work involves overseeing the opening, closing, and daily operations of the Splash at Wabash including front desk operations, water slide operations, and facility cleaning. The Aquatic Complex Attendant is responsible for ensuring patron safety and enjoyment at Splash at Wabash through the promotion of facility rules and regulations, providing emergency response, and providing information regarding the available activities at the facility. Work is performed with considerable independence under general supervision from a Pool Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Enforces all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations.
Provide patrons quality customer service that meets or exceeds the department expectations
Provide efficient and friendly front desk operations including answering/routing telephone calls and providing accurate information about services, programs, and general information related to the parks and recreation department.
Process and accept payments for entries through our computer software
Responsible for working funds, cash drawers, daily reports, and daily deposits.
Responsible for operating the top of the water slides and enforcing water slide rules to ensure the safety of patrons.
Screen and educate patrons who wish to use the waterslides on safe use of the attraction. Enforce height, weight, and safety restrictions.
Demonstrate and facilitate a positive and professional attitude towards duties, customers, and coworkers to create a cohesive team atmosphere with all departments
Assist with maintaining cleanliness of the water attractions and facility. Tasks include but are not limited to; cleaning waterslides, pool vacuuming, debris retrieval, cleaning restrooms, floors, sanitizing, hosing pool deck and emptying garbage.
Exhibits a professional image, behavior, appearance, and demeanor at all times.
Participates in regular in-service training sessions.
Works to assure that every patron has a positive experience. Responds to internal and external requests without delay.
Maintains strict confidence in all matters, works well with fellow staff members, treats all individuals with dignity and respect.
Appears at work on time and as scheduled. Is responsible and reliable in attendance.
Handles equipment and resources in a proper manner for optimum usage.

Promote aquatic programs and center memberships.
Maintain open communication with guests, participants and/or participants parents, and other aquatics staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 16 years of age
Certified in First Aid and CPR/AED training (We are able to provide training if not already certified).
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work as an individual and also within the framework of a team.
Must possess strong human relation skills.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Subject to working a varied schedule including days, evenings and weekends.
Previous experience as a Lifeguard preferred, but not required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is done primarily outside at the Splash at Wabash Aquatic Complex (501 N. Florissant).
