What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concession Aide (Seasonal Summer 2025) position at City of Ferguson?
The City of Ferguson's Parks and Recreation Department is looking for responsible candidates with good communication and customer service skills to fill full-time openings for the Concession Aide. Requires serving food and beverages to visitors at January Wabash Park/Splash at Wabash Aquatic Complex. Responsibilities include: Food sales and preparation including operation of food service equipment; maintaining work areas in a clean and organized manner; operating cash register; and performing other duties as assigned. Must be able to stand for long periods. Minor lifting may be required.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the incumbent will provide quality service to members, customers, and the general public.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Requires a positive, can-do attitude with ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Strong working knowledge of cash handling, customer service and food service.
Must possess strong human relation skills.
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Sound judgment and decision-making skills to handle problem solving and interpersonal skills to deal with people of all socio-economic levels.
Maintain positive rapport with members, patrons and staff.
Meet training deadlines, set forth, in the Program Training Model.
Must take orders in a friendly manner.
Be able to prepare food while following all food preparation guidelines.
Be able to count change and deal with the general public in a positive manner.
Perform food inventory.
Execute ordering and stocking of product.
Assist with special events and programs as needed
Operate the cash register system and computer programs for data management.
Record cash transactions.
Follow aspects of Crisis Communication Plan.
Follow the opening/closing checklist.
Work at least 15 hours per week.
Read the pass along/blog daily.
Respect staff confidentiality.
Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 16 years old.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is done in an indoor and outdoor setting. Expected to work approximately 30 hours per week and not exceeding 40 hours per week.
