What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Coordinator position at City of Findlay?
Job Overview
The Operations Coordinator position at the airport is crucial for ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This position touches all aspects of airport operations from mowing the grass to helping customers to handling administrative and budgetary duties. The ideal candidate is highly motivated with a strong drive to excel, adaptable, and able to relate to different personalities. You must be an independent worker with strong decision-making skills, confident in delegating tasks to team members, and willing to go the extra mile to remove barriers for customers. It requires 2-3 years of practical airport operations experience since you would act as team leader in the absence of the Airport Director. Additionally you would coordinate on-site activities, enforce regulations, manage airport leases, and resolve customer complaints.
Some of the best parts of the job include a flexible schedule tailored to individual and airport needs, the opportunity to interact with a diverse aviation population (cargo and passenger), and close proximity to airplanes and aviation activities. However, there are challenges, such as occasional call-ins for managing aircraft operations during nighttime hours and plowing during adverse weather.
You will be expected to come in on day one with a basic working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite, be proficient in the English Language (essential in aviation), and have a valid driver’s license. The City will provide on-the-job training for all other aspects of the position that you do not know including, but not limited to, computer-based Line Service Training and formal aviation fuel quality assurance training. If you’re passionate about aviation and thrive in a dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply!
