Be a part of history in the City of Fishers! The Fishers Community Center is scheduled to open October 2025. The Assistant Membership Manager of our Community Center will help us build and lead a dynamic staff, establish team culture, develop membership policies and protocols, and open this vibrant new facility with excellence. The 105,000sq. ft. Fishers Community Center will offer free amenities to the community including a walking track, large indoor playground, and access to Sahms Community Café. It will also have a paid membership model that allows access to 2 indoor pools (including a 2-story waterslide), 3 athletic gyms, a large fitness floor, 2 group exercise studios, 1 cycle studio, childcare, and much more. The Community Center will also feature a 3-acre Dog Park located on the campus. The Assistant Membership Manager will supervise and collaborate with staff to deliver a high-quality service to members and is a key front-line role in the delivery of information and member service. Examples of Duties:
- Plan, manage, and oversee all aspects of membership service and engagement strategies to support the recruitment of new members and retention of existing members.
- Participate in the development and implementation of recruitment and retention goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
- Assist in the planning and execution of all aspects of member recruitment and retention events.
- Maintain and organize membership database and waitlists including organizing enrollment drives.
- Partner with marketing staff to develop print, direct mail, and digital marketing materials.
- Receive, investigate, and respond to difficult and sensitive problems and complaints from residents, members, and staff in a professional manner; takes necessary corrective action.
- Direct, supervise, and evaluate staff service delivery providing guidance and coaching to front-line teams to improve member service and retention.
- Cultivate and advance a positive environment for employees by fostering a team culture that empowers staff to provide exceptional customer service.
- Ensure staff compliance with City and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols.
- Act as manager on duty for some evening and weekend rotations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in health, wellness, business, or related field from an accredited college or university;
- Two (2) or more years of progressively responsible experience with a health and wellness business, recreational programing and/or membership-based facility;
- Any combination equivalent to the experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be considered;
- Must have valid driver's license and ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle;
- Requires the ability to effectively provide a high level of customer service to diverse internal and external customers both in-person, online, and over the telephone;
- Requires the ability to respond to service and facility use related complaints and requests;
- Requires experience in principles and best practices used in membership administration;
- Requires the ability to plan, organize, direct, and coordinate membership programs;
- Requires familiarity with public relations and marketing practices, principles, and methods related to membership promotions;
- Requires ability to use MS Office and other software, systems, and office equipment;
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and background noises is required;
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
