Description
The City of Fishers is hiring a full-time Health and Fitness Manager. This role, under the direction of the Assistant Community Center Director, oversees the planning, development and delivery of high-quality health and fitness programing at the City of Fishers Community Center while promoting a commitment to healthier lifestyles and upholding the mission of the Fishers Community Center.
Examples of Duties
- Develop and execute comprehensive health and fitness programing, focusing on goals such as program utilization and enhancement, and revenue growth.
- Provide a safe environment for participants, staff, and volunteers by strictly adhering to all City of Fishers policies and procedures
- Provide supervisory assistance with hiring, training, scheduling and evaluating staff.
- Assist in creating and distributing marketing material advertising program offerings.
- Develop/manage program budget, maintain accurate program records and assemble and analyze data as required to prepare reports.
- Act as a first responder in the event of an emergency, providing immediate assistance, administering first aid or CPR as needed, and following proper emergency protocols to ensure member and staff safety.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patrons and staff.
- Act as Manager on Duty for some evening and weekend rotations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Equivalent to an bachelors degree in health, kinesiology, business, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred;
- Four (4) or more years of experience in of progressively responsible experience in leadership position within the fitness industry;
- Experience providing a high level of customer service to diverse internal and external customers both in-person, online, and over the telephone;
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and background noises;
- Must possess and maintain a valid Indiana drivers license with a record that allows the ability to be insured to drive a City vehicle.
- Must have the ability to obtain a nationally recognized Personal Training Certification (e.g. ACSM, NASM, AFAA, ACE) and/or Group Exercise Certification (e.g. ACSM, NASM, AFAA, ACE, Les Mills, Mad Dogg Athletics, or other accredited organizations) within the first 60 days.
- Must have an Adult CPR/AED, First Aid certifications or ability to obtain within the first 60 days.
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
