Description:
The City of Fishers is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, responsible professional to serve as the Farmers Market Coordinator for the Parks Department. This part-time time position will coordinate all aspects of the Fishers Farmers Market. The role will also require on-site management of the weekly markets on Saturday mornings from May - September and will assist with other events throughout the year.
Examples of Duties:
- Coordinate all weekly Farmers Market logistics including setup, operation, and breakdown of the farmers market
- Manage market logistics including scheduling, layout, and vendor placement.
- Handle vendor applications and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed
- Weekly communication with market vendors
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues that arise during market hours
- On site management of weekly markets - Saturday mornings from May-September
- Collaborate with internal City departments (Community Engagement, Public Works, Communications, etc.)
- Coordinate specialty days within the Farmers Market
- On site coordination of Farmers Market entertainment
- Collect and report on market data including attendance, vendor sales, and customer/vendor feedback
- Additional coordination and participation in city events as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 - 3 years of experience in programming, events or relatable field desired;
- Valid driver's license and ability to be insured to drive a city vehicle required;
- Working knowledge of office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.) required;
- This work can be physical in nature, requiring the ability to lift at least 25 lbs;
- Work requires frequent standing and walking;
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures used to coordinate events required;
- Strong customer service skills required;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required;
- Ability to work under sometimes stressful and/or difficult situations required;
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time required;
- Ability to work Saturday mornings from 6am-1pm in the months of May-September;
- This is a part-time role and will work an average of 29 hours per week.

Taking place from 8 a.m. until noon and weekly, the Farmers Market offers the ideal opportunity to catch up with friends, enjoy live music, and stock up on fresh produce and other homemade goods. Farmers Market takes place at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater and hosts a large variety of selected vendors.
