Supervises the administration of facilities and programs in an assigned area including recreational, athletic, and arts programs. Recommends purchases of supplies and equipment. Consult and assist other department personnel in programs. Performs related work in other areas of the department or other duties as assigned.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Plans, organizes, implements, and supervises recreation events and programs.Schedules and records daily time cards, overtime, and leave of personnel.Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.Oversees collections and deposit fees of recreational activities.Assist in the selection of part-time personnel.Assists in the budget preparation.Maintains accurate reports and files.Supervises the maintenance of the recreation facility and/or field(s).Attends meetings and seminars as required.Oversees the booking of facilities.Trains personnel in procedures of operation.Oversees and assists as needed, with the setup of upcoming programs.Works with local agencies and organizations on providing additional services and/or programs.Recruits “Contract Specialist” as needed for programs such as aerobics, twirling, arts, etc.Provides training and issues certifications to lifeguard staff in lifeguarding, water safety, first aid, CPR, and AED.Ensures all certifications of lifeguard and swim team staff are current.Ensures high program standards are followed. Provides regular in-service training to staff on a regular basis.Assist with swim meets, tournaments, and other special events.Develop a lifeguard schedule and deck rotation system for monitoring the pools and all other pool deck programs and operations.Schedules all pool activities and private rentals to ensure optimum pool usage.Develop and schedule programming for the center to include classes, swim team practices & meets, swim lessons, lap swimming, and other aquatic programs as developed and assigned.Hires, trains, and schedules qualified lifeguards, instructors, pool attendants, and all other pool staff.Directly supervises all aquatic staff.
