The Fond du Lac Public Library is seeking a friendly and outgoing Library Assistant to welcome customers and provide ongoing assistance at the Reference and Help Desk as part of the Information and Outreach Services department. Under the supervision of the Information and Outreach Services Coordinator, the successful candidate will also troubleshoot, update, and maintain public and staff computers.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Instructing customers on the use of computers, the internet, printers, and other technology;
- Installing, updating, troubleshooting, and maintaining public and staff computers;
- Staffing the Reference or Help Desk;
- Helping users locate materials and use library resources.
The Fond du Lac Public Library is a vibrant, customer-focused library, circulating over 400,000 items annually with a collection of 200,000 items spread over two locations. In addition to traditional library materials, the library circulates computer projectors, board games, guitar effect pedals, cake pans, and outdoor games.
The Library’s makerspace, the Idea Studio, offers a test kitchen, recording studio, woodworking shop, 3D printers, sewing machines and various other equipment for public use.

Pay Rate: $25.64 per hour
Schedule: Averages 19.5 hours per week, including a regular rotation of evenings and weekends
