Airport Director

This is a critical role with the responsibility of ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of the airport, while driving growth and expanding its potential in the region.

As the Airport Director, you'll be the driving force behind the airport operations, including aircraft operations, staff training, maintenance, safety, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. You'll play a key role in fostering relationships with government agencies, airlines, the FAA, and the local community, all while leading an amazing team dedicated to enhancing the airport’s services and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership & Planning: Lead all operations with a focus on operational excellence, safety, and regulatory compliance under FAR Part 139.
• Financial Management: Oversee the airport's budget, including the preparation of the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), manage revenue streams, and ensure financial health.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison to federal, state, and local officials, airlines, and the community to advocate for the airport’s growth and sustainability.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to FAA standards and maintain all necessary airport certifications and security programs.
• Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety protocols, and manage long-term development projects such as building improvements and airfield maintenance.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor airport staff, ensuring a supportive, team-oriented environment, while providing ongoing training, performance reviews, and professional development.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business administration, public administration, or a related field with 5 years of progressively responsible experience in airport management, including working with FAA grants and compliance.
• Skills & Abilities: 
  • Knowledge of FAA standards, aviation laws, project management, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in budgeting, financial oversight, and grants administration.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Flexibility and resilience to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and a diverse set of responsibilities.
