Join the City of Fort Dodge Public Works team this summer to help us efficiently execute our "Junk Days on Demand" program and contribute to the overall maintenance and improvement of our city's infrastructure. As a Seasonal Laborer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our city's livability through various projects, including bulk item collection, concrete work, road maintenance, and facility upkeep.

- Junk Days on Demand Program: Actively participate in the city's initiative to collect and dispose of large waste items, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all residents.
- Concrete and Asphalt Work: Build and set forms for concrete structures such as curbs, gutters, sidewalks, footings, catch basins, manholes, and storm sewers. Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other materials.
- Land and Roadway Maintenance: Use public works vehicles, along with hand and power tools, to spread and level earth, sand, and gravel. Clean and repair catch basins, manholes, culverts, and storm drains.
- Public Safety: Erect barricades, fences, and rails to protect the public from hazardous conditions.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Clean and maintain Public Works equipment, buildings, grounds, and city facilities. Operate light and medium-duty trucks with trailers, tractors, and hand tools.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the department's goals.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to operate light and medium-duty trucks, trailers, tractors, and hand tools.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and handle materials and tools.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team.
