What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Mower position at City of Fort Dodge?
The City of Fort Dodge, Public Areas Department, is seeking a dedicated and detail-orientated individual to join our team as a Seasonal Mowing Operations employee. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain city-owned properties, including but not limited to residential lots, green spaces, parks, trails, and ROW grassy areas by mowing and trimming as needed. This position will require organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner, independent decision-making, and the ability to navigate the City. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in a well-kept landscape. A highly motivated, self-starter that does not require significant supervision will thrive in this position.
Mow grass on various properties, ensuring even cuts and appropriate heights within City Code.
Trim all vertical obstructions within properties
Ability to use multiple mowing equipment (standup, zero turn, push mowers)
Must be able to properly drive a truck with attached trailer
Must be 18 years of age
Must possess a valid Iowa Driver's License
This is a seasonal position with an expected duration of approximately 7 months. Potential start date of April 1st.
