Summary
Starting pay range for position : $17.50-$21.00 per hour
This is an on-call position, with variable hours per week to provide staffing as needed. Under supervision this position delivers direct customer service and helps organize library collection materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Projects a positive and pleasant attitude to the public and cooperates and maintains an effective relationship with other staff members as part of a team.
- Greet and assist patrons with locating needed materials.
- Shelves library books, magazines, and other materials in proper order.
- Circulation (Checking items in and out on the computers at the circulation desk).
- Assist patrons with copying, faxing and printing.
- Assist librarians with programs.
- Prep materials for programs and kits.
- Adheres to library policies and procedures.
- Develops a working knowledge about the organization and care of library materials and library services and programs.
- Performs any other tasks as requested.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit , stand, walk, talk, use hands, fingers, feet, or operate objects, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Employee must communicate clearly and effectively; must understand and be understood. On rare occasions, the employee may be required to climb and balance. The employee must occasionally carry, pull, push, or lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision acuity and the ability to adjust his or her focus, allowing a broad field of vision.
